Yew Medicine Retreat at The Sussex Country Yurt
Join SAS founder Ellie Green (Botanical Artist & Hedgewitch) and Sally (Holistic Health & Wellness Coach Body Phonics) to dive into the magic and the medicine of the Yew tree. The Yew tree is a highly sacred tree that offers us the medicine of death / endings, transformation and rebirth.
Saturday 16th November | 13:30 to 17:30 | The Sussex Country Yurt
This darker time of the year, when the veil is said to be at it’s thinnest, is a beautiful time to light a fire, gather in circle and connect to the support of both our ancestors and our loved ones in spirit as the year nears its end.
Supported by the spirit and medicine of the Yew tree, this half day retreat is an invitation to journey inwards with us, held in the safe and cosy cocoon of the yurt for an afternoon of deep rest and surrender.
The Yew tree is said to be the guardian to the door of rebirth and of course in the process of rebirth, we also need to make way for endings - for closing chapters, letting go of people in our lives that no longer align to our vibration or shedding habits that are holding us back.
All of these provide a rich and fertile compost for our rebirth if we are aware of what those things are and feel brave enough to finally let them go.
We want to offer support to you in this process, to help you journey inward and discover those areas in your life where you might be holding on too tight. We want to encourage you to gently loosen your grip and to know that if you do, everything will be alright. We’ll hold a safe space for any emotions that arise from this process - to release any grief but also to celebrate and envision all that could be…
In this dive into the medicine of the Yew, we will be offering:
A taste of Yew medicine working with a tincture in meditation
An introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) led by Sally where she’ll share some insight into areas of the physical and spiritual bodies that might be affected by us holding on too tight.
Journaling exercises to tune into our inner worlds - noticing where we might feel blocked, out of alignment or be struggling to let go…
A sharing circle with the opportunity to speak to any revelations or feelings arising from this work.
Oracle cards to connect to our inner knowing / intuition
A soothing watercolour workshop where we’ll create a yew wreath to reflect the continuing cycles of life, endings and new beginnings…
A deeply grounding & anchoring Reiki circle to clear and recharge your energy centres and to seal the space.
As with all our retreats, we’ll have a selection of teas available throughout and some home baked cakes to share. A crackling fire will be lit and the yurt will be delightfully cosy on a cool November afternoon.
At the end of the retreat we’ll send you away with a little gift of light for you to carry with you into the longer Winter nights…
Book your space here:
Join us in circle with like minded kin and let go of the old so you can joyfully invite all that’s new and beautiful and meant for you..all the way in.
Please note: This is an intimate gathering and spaces are limited folks - so if this retreat is calling to you, follow that nudge and join us around the fire…
